Robert E. "Bob" Bennington

Robert E. “Bob” Bennington, 88, of Bridgeport, OH, died Thursday, April 2, 2020 in Wheeling Hospital. He was born December 12, 1931 in Neffs, OH a son of the late Herbert and Almeada (Yoho) Bennington.

Bob retired from International Mills Service of Mingo Jct., OH. He also worked for the former TriState Asphalt of Martins Ferry, OH and continued his retirement as a driver for Heartland-Lansing Nursing Home.

He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas E. Bennington and sisters, Mabel Fabrizio and Rose Bennington.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Darlene V. (O’Malley) Bennington, who he married Nov. 9, 1957, his children: Michelle (Sam) Lucarelli and Robert (Stacey) Bennington both of Bridgeport and Terry (Candy) Bennington of Stafford, VA, his siblings: Mary McGarry and Shirley Angelo both of Bellaire, OH, Ruth Ann Irvin of Shadyside, OH and Herbert (Birdie) Bennington, Jr. of Bellaire, OH; seven grandchildren: Brett (Skar) Bennington, Eric and Shane Bennington, Crystal (John) Williams, Tommy (Michele) Bennington, Kelly (Scott) Moores and Brian Bennington, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Private Services will be held at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH with Rev. Larry Helms officiating. Burial follows in Belmont County Memorial Park, St. Clairsville, OH.
